Important Information

Warranty

Coverage
New ChalupSKI surfskis purchased in New Zealand are covered against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from the date of delivery. This includes manufacturing defects in the hull, deck and factory-fitted components such as the rudder and footplate assemblies.
Warranty registration
To register your ChalupSKI for this written warranty, you must submit your details through the Warranty page on the ChalupSKI NZ website within 30 days of receiving your surfski. The registration requirement does not affect your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
12-month warranty extension
After the initial 12-month period ends, submit an updated warranty form through the Warranty page on the ChalupSKI NZ website to extend your written warranty for a further 12 months. The extension runs from the end of the initial warranty period, for a total of 24 months from the date of delivery.
Damage and wear
This written warranty excludes normal wear and tear and damage caused by impact, dragging,
overtightened transport straps, improper storage or modifications. Premature failure during normal use may be assessed as a possible defect.
How we assess warranty claims
Due to the nature of surfski paddling, damage can have several causes. We assess each claim individually to determine whether the issue is due to a defect in materials or workmanship, normal wear and tear, or damage from an external cause such as an impact or improper transport. We may ask for photos and details of when the issue first appeared, and arrange an inspection if needed. This assessment process does not limit your rights under the Consumer
Guarantees Act 1993.
How to make a claim
Contact the retailer you purchased from, or contact ChalupSKI NZ directly if you bought from us.
Please include your purchase details, the ski model and serial number if available, a description
of the issue, and any photos you have. We’ll explain the next steps.
Your New Zealand consumer rights
This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. Depending on the fault, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.

Change of ownership: if your ChalupSKI changes ownership, the new owner must complete a new warranty form on the Warranty page of the ChalupSKI NZ website
